Nevins Newfield Inn is located approx midway along the Greenway. The entrance to the Greenway is located beside our business, thus one does not need to cycle on the main road to gain access. The World Class Great Western Greenway is a traffic free cycling and walking trail which follows the route of the renowned Westport to Achill railway which closed in 1937. We are also located 16km from the famous Ballycroy National Park. Ballycroy National Park is Ireland’s sixth National Park and located on the Western seaboard.
Situated in one of the most picturesque locations in Ireland, it enjoys scenic Clew Bay and Nephin mountain views. We are situated on the main N59 road central between Newport and Mulranny. We are surrounded by the famous Burrishoole loop walks which cater for every type of hiker levelling from easy to intermediate to hard ranging from 3km- to 16km.
We are situated 5km from Mulranny Golf Links, a wonderful nine-hole course set on the shores of Clew Bay in Mulranny Co Mayo. On a fine day it boasts fantastic views of Croagh Patrick and Clare Island as you look across Clew Bay. Each of the nine holes have unique features which pose different challenges to all categories of golfer.
Mulranny has several spectacular coves with beautiful soft golden sand backed by machair dunes. All have breath-taking views across Clew Bay and out towards Clare Island.
